Find out something new each time and practice giving feedback to the facilitators about the session. To join, sign up on our Calendly page via the Book Now button on this website.

Interested in being a facilitator? Propose an offering through our facilitator session form. We request that facilitators have a minimum of 10 days of training with CNVC Certified trainers.

Journaling in Community (Advanced)

Weekly, for CNVC Candidates and Certified Trainers

1 hour, online
10:45 am – 11:45 am MT (Edmonton)
Accompaniment available in a breakout or with the group

Regular journaling with a compassionate mindset keeps you connected and gives you opportunities to shift habitual responses, and this is how habits transform (without you losing your sense of self respect and dignity). You will have a chance to:

  • Break down internal stories that are painful and generate resentment so you can bridge disconnections and heal
  • Get clarity about what’s on your mind or what might be going on for someone in your life
  • Be accompanied and witnessed without judgment, to support your growth and transformation
  • Feel more calm and grounded so you are less tense and more focused on what you can do to enrich your life and connections

We have witnessed journaling in community save marriages, facilitate peaceful divorce, support nurturing parenting, and stave off unhealthy workplace stress.  NVC journaling in community tends to be, in our experience, even more powerful because being received with compassion helps our internal tension to lessen, helps us gain clarity, and helps us to accept ourselves.  If you wish, to help you shift your focus from your story to what’s important to you, you can use one of Elke’s journaling tables to help get you started.

We meet each Wednesday from 10:45 am to 11:45 am MT (Edmonton). Typically, we self connect for 1-2 minutes, do a round of check-ins to witness what is capturing our attention in the moment, journal independently (if you wish, you can receive support from the facilitator), and close with a round of voluntary sharing (this often supports further insights).

Prerequisite to support group safety: Our greatest growth comes, we believe, when we are not judged, but are self-motivated by new awareness. This group is for more experienced NVC practitioners (CNVC candidates, CNVC Certified Trainers, or others steeped in NVC). To support creating a non-judgmental environment, this is a closed group, by invitation. If you are interested, please contact Elke through the Contact page on this website.

Facilitator: Elke Haggerty

Request to join and meet with Elke before signing up. Requested contribution: $60 CDN or more per month.

Training Toolkits

Are you looking to offer communication training but you do not like creating curriculum? I am developing a trainer toolkit that may be of interest to you. Available to NVC practitioners with 10 or more days of training with certified trainers, the Communication Training Shoebox is a modular system that has concept cards, activity cards, participant handouts, and administrative handouts. You will be able to buy just the components you are most interested in, for example Key Differentiation concept cards. The puppets are available below. More is to come!  Would you like to be part of Beta-testing? Let me know.
